Behind the scenes:
Chris’s Shop Class desk scenes were taped in a windowless garage in Richmond under a half dozen halogen lamps. It was 140 degrees F.
Jamie Elia would throw Chris a towel during the camera countdown, Chris would wipe away the pouring sweat, throw the towel back, deliver his line, and we’d all run outside into the sunshine to recover in the relative cool of a 102 degree summer day. It took about 4 hours to complete the scenes.
Chris never complained.
